About the artist

Hanna Mrak

Hanna is a graphite and colored-pencil artist drawn to the quiet bonds between people and animals.

Working slowly and by hand, she builds her drawings from thousands of fine pencil strokes — coaxing soft fur, catchlit eyes, and the small gestures of affection that pass between a child and a goat, a person and their dog. Her subjects are tender and unguarded, and her aim is simple: to make you feel something you recognize.
